Started out just great

I purchased the Waring Pro WMK300A waffle maker for Christmas 2009. Using the receipt that came with it we had a wonderful golden brown waffle breakfast. I had the heat setting a six. Followed by two additional waffle breakfasts using a box mix which were good but not as good as the receipt that came with the product. We then had weekend company which we promised a Sunday morning waffle breakfast. We used the receipt mix and set the heat at six. I made eight waffles and they were all under cooked. I even increased the heat level. What a disappointment that was. I plan to give it one more try then I will return it.
A very easy and great product

This has been a very easy and great product to use around the kitchen. Waffle making has been more fun, and no mess to clean up afterwards.
I highly recommend this to anyone that wants to cut their work time, as well as enjoy having fun.
BEST of THE BEST

Great item – our first was a gift to us and we have since purchased it as a gift to others;
Pretty darn good

This waffle maker works well. However, we have to run it at the maximum setting with the various wholemeal recipes we’ve tried, and it could still use a bit more heat/time to brown the waffles properly.
Great for a little over a year, and then died

I loved this waffle iron. it makes the best waffles! But I have only had it for a little over a year and then it quit cooking evenly. My parents had the same one and it lasted even less time that mine did. If I only paid $30 for it, then it would have been ok, but paying almost $100, it should have lasted longer.
breaks with little use

I bought a Waring Pro wafflemaker about 2006 at Costco. I used it regularly the first few months but it has mostly remained unused in a closet. I recently decided to make myself a waffle but found that the plastic part that supports the griddle just crumbled away after one use. It is now unusable. Obvious to me that the plastic is defective and no replacement part is available from Waring.
Skip this unless you want to get your hands dirty in electrical work

I’m a pretty handy guy and I have some experience dealing with electronics. After my second one blew (the 1st one replaced under warranty) just 4 months later, I bought a couple fuses and figured no problem in replacing it. Stripped a screw (I have a PERFECT fitting tip…didn’t matter), had to pry back the metal to an extent…just couldn’t get good access to the fuse but was able to replace it. Couldn’t get everything to fit perfectly back together and was worried. Yup…it was a valid worry. First “flip” and sparks blew.
Bought the similar model (same?) from Costco a month later. Why am I a glutten for punishment? Because this appliance makes darn good waffles! I have used it about twice a week since getting the first one. My Costco one blew at about 1 year exactly. This one threw sparks too…and this is NOT one that I tampered with. The first time the fuse blew it just stopped working.
This waffle maker is downright dangerous. Previously, I recommended this waffle maker and thought it was great because of the quality, but I can’t blow $50-100 a year (or more depending on how long it lasts) to have a waffle maker. I know I should have just sought out a commercial appliance shop and bought a $200-300 commercial one. Maybe I’ll do that now. At least I could return the Costco one for a full refund, but that doesn’t do me any good with the Amazon one I purchased for about $90.
Honestly…just stay away from this waffle maker and find something else. I really wish Waring would get their act together with this waffle maker, but after 3 of them, each one newer than the previous, they haven’t fixed the issue.
Yummy Waffels, great product

Overall this waffel maker is wonderful. Easy to use and easy to maintain thus far. I did buy the extra fuses so when they fail can be easily replaced (something these machines do) Don’t allow that to take you away frome enjoying the waffels this machine makes.
I throw breakfast parties and without fail the waffels are the hit!
Two things (minor they may be) to mention that can be a downfall:
1) the steam/moisture seems to escape from the front near the handle leaving water at the base of the machine below the handle (easy clean up)
2)the base is a plastic material, very durable and lightweight but not metal in case that is an issue for anyone looking at this as a purchase.
Many years of enjoyment!
