Does what I ask of it.

I like the baker for making a lot of waffles at once. They cook evenly, and a nice golden color. I’m using Krusteaz waffle/pancake mix (and some chocolate chips for some), using waffle directions. Perfectly cooked in approx 4 minutes. Comes out clean and is completely non-stick without spraying or brushing surfaces in advance. Really doesn’t even require a wipedown, they pop out so cleanly. Crispy outside, tender inside. This is all I ask of it.
Not a good iron
Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I purchased this waffle iron about 6 months ago. The non-stick surface is peeling off and subsequently is baking into the waffles. I would not recommend this iron if you are going to use it frequently. It MUST be used with a non-stick spray.
Product was chipped out of the box.

I ordered this as a gift and when it was opened, the reaction was not happiness but shock. The item was chipped on the lid. So then I ordered a replacement and when that was received, it was chipped in the same spot and the handle was loose. I do not recommend this product as it does not seem to ship very well.

Very good waffle maker. Used it this morning. Received in a very timely manner and very satisfied with product.
Hard to clean
Rating:2 out of 5 stars
We received this waffle maker as a gift. The waffles come out a little on the brown side, I like them a nice golden color. But it is very difficult to clean. We don’t use it very much for that reason. If I had purchased this myself, I would return it.
A fine value

I was probably going to spend at least $50 on a waffle maker, but decided to try this one. I think it works just fine and I plan to keep it. Very easy to use and clean up is a breeze. I used regular Hungry Jack Pancake and waffle mix per box instructions. I followed the cooking instructions supplied with the waffle maker which turned out to be a mistake. My waffles cooked exceptionally fast! The unit recommended 5 minutes cooking time. I found that after taking at least 15-20 seconds to fill the unit with batter my waffles cooked completely in only 1 1/2 – 2 additional minutes. My waffles were not perfectly formed at the edges, but I don’t care. The batter starts cooking so quickly upon filling that I found I didn’t really have time to try to spread the batter evenly with a spatula before closing the lid. The unit proved to be essentially mess-less; something that I did not expect at all! Not once did any batter ooze beyond the waffle iron edges-not a drop!! I used a full one cup measuring cup to fill the waffle maker for each batch. I read that someone uses a large water bottle with a spout for filling batter which probably works very well and is easier to control. Though I’ve never tried any other waffle maker, I think this one offers a great product at a truly unbeatable cost!
Heats unevenly

The waffles are not a good as the ones from the commercial waffle maker found at Sunday buffets. The bottom of the pockets would be crisp and the tops a little soggy. It does heat up quickly. We later purchased the Villaware waffle maker and are happier with it.
Inexpensive waffle iron works well
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I purchased this waffle iron recently at Target for less than $$$$. I was willing to buy a more expensive unit, but reviews of the expensive units weren’t that great, so I decided to give a budget-priced unit with high wattage a try. I’ve been very surprised with how well it works. The 1200 watt unit heats up within a few minutes (a green light turns on to indicate when it’s ready). I give the grids a very light spray of Pam before filling with batter each time and never have any sticking. Each waffle takes 5 minutes to bake and they come out crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. It doesn’t have an indicator to tell you when the waffle is done, but I just set my timer for 5 minutes, no problem. Between waffles, it heats up instantly, no waiting to pour another waffle in. I downgraded it slightly because the design makes the waffles flatter (not as tall) as they are in restaurants. The unit is very sleek and pretty as well.
